The Makerista using Delta faucet

Gwen, better known as The Makerista, describes herself as a modern traditionalist who isn’t afraid of color. From a young age, she’s felt the strong desire to create and has dabbled with music, fashion and of course, home making. Recently, Gwen and her husband have been renovating their colonial home and shared how the Broderick Kitchen Faucet brought lasting change into their home.

The Makerista's project overview

We renovated our small kitchen about six years ago and have really enjoyed the results since. As a family of five, the space gets a lot of action. From breakfast to late night snacks, there is always someone in the kitchen. The faucet is one of the most seen and touched fixtures in our home. From filling up water cans to hand washing, food prep to clean up—it doesn't get much rest! When we made over the space I focused on form, but function was an element that was missing in the sink, and my family complained about it often. I only had one kind of water flow for all of my kitchen needs and to clean out the sink we had to fill a cup with water and pour it down the sides.

When I came across Delta's Broderick faucet and Glass Rinser, I knew they were the answer to my desire for both form and function!

Switching your faucet and adding the glass rinser are easy updates for any plumber or non-plumber. We didn't have an extra hole for the rinser, but my husband was able to get a drill bit from the home improvement store to drill one. Installation for both fixtures was a rather simple DIY if you have some plumbing experience yourself.

The new faucet and glass rinser bring some much needed style and ease to kitchen prep and clean up. The kids love cleaning out their glasses now before placing them in the dishwasher. I like using it to clean out plastics and cartons before things head to the recycle bin. From smoothie glasses to yogurt cups, the rinser cleans it all! When it's not in use, the cover is pretty and discreet. I love a traditional bridge faucet, but they don't usually include modern conveniences. The Broderick faucet has a retractable, magnetic head that makes sink clean up a breeze and the different settings means there's always an easy way to get grime removed from dishes. The spray shield is my favorite! Its technology allows you to clean the mess without making a mess.

I couldn't be happier with our new fixtures. They are easy on the eyes and make clean up so much easier. A win-win!
