It’s finally the weekend, and you're wanting to refresh your space, but you don't know where to start. We're here to share a few easy upgrades that'll change how you experience your home.

We’re always striving to design with you in mind. So, we talked to 1,000 home improvers across the country about their motivations, pain points, and feelings associated with home improvement projects.

From that survey, 79% of respondents started and completed at least one home improvement project in the last 12 months — with much of the focus being on kitchens and bathrooms. Why these spaces? Remodeling experts, Mike & Hannah explain it perfectly:

"Consumers love to update their kitchen and baths because they’re such hardworking spaces, you spend so much time in. The kitchen is the heart of the home and you’re in the bathroom at least a couple times a day, if not more. These are the hardworking spaces you want to update."

While nearly 50% of home improvers think they need a professional to help with their projects, with this quick guide, you’ll get your kitchen and bathroom refresh done in no time.

Get Inspired:

Mike & Hannah find inspiration on Pinterest, browsing through consumer's spaces for the latest looks. There are so many profiles and different styles to explore — it’s a great place to start. Also take note of the way people are using colors, finishes and technology to enhance their space.

Get Prepared:

No matter your skill level, it’s crucial to plan ahead before starting a project. Check out tutorials, and read instructions thoroughly.

Also, expect a curveball. Not every project is perfect, so it’s smart to build in extra time, and wiggle room in your budget for any obstacles that may pop up.

Get to Work:

Now that you’re ready to start your refresh, here are five easy updates you can do this weekend:

  1. For a kitchen refresh, swap out your kitchen faucet. New technology like Touch2O and VoiceIQ make kitchen tasks a breeze.

“It only takes a couple of hours to complete – even for DIY beginners – and has a great impact on how you experience your kitchen every day. Once you have a touch faucet, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.” - Hannah

  1. Get easy to install accessories like our glass rinser, which can be used on everything from pint glasses to baby bottles.

We were able to install it using an existing hole we had for a soap dispenser and it has opened up a whole new world of opportunities for us.” - Hannah

  1. Replace your old showerhead for one of the easiest bathroom upgrades — it literally only takes a few minutes.

  2. If you’re looking for a bigger bathroom refresh, replace your toilet for a more modern look.

“It’s surprisingly easy to achieve a modern look by swapping out your toilet. As for not having the right tools, some manufacturers actually make toilets that install with no tools at all.” - Mike

  1. Lastly, in both the bathroom and the kitchen, update your accessories like towel racks, cabinet handles, and more. All you need is a screwdriver. It makes such a big impact and is an easy project to complete.

And we know that updating your space can make all the difference, with over 70% of respondents rating a 7 or higher that plumbing fixtures and accessories impact the look and the experience of a newly completed kitchen or bath space.

"The look of your space is so important in how you feel. If you’re happy in your space, it can really start your day off on the right foot and carry over into your other daily tasks." - Mike
